Acura TL is a sports sedan that is at a disadvantage against its rivals in terms of fuel efficiency. Though Honda makes very efficient engines, here, it (thus, Acura) falls victim to selecting Americanized (pumped-up) engines. Another thing that is hard to understand is why Acura offers two engines so close to each other in terms of performance. The standard engine could have been smaller and more fuel efficient. Honda (and, for example, Acura TSX) has nice 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter VTEC engines that are state-of-the-art machines. Acura TL needs one of them, here and now.
